DataDome Enables New Edge Integration to Accelerate Onboarding Time-to-Value

One of the pillars of DataDome’s strategic vision is “DataDome Everywhere”: the ability to protect our customers against bad bots and cyberfraud on any infrastructure. In response to demand from our enterprise customers, we are pleased to introduce a new DNS-based Edge Integration to our list of supported server-side integrations.

The vast majority of our customers leverage our out-of-the-box server-side integrations to onboard completely and turn on protection in days. Until now, however, a small number of customers faced technical challenges that prevented them from taking advantage of  DataDome’s full capabilities. Common barriers included:

• Technical debt & limitations on existing infrastructures
• Backend architectures that cannot scale and may fail under Layer 7 DDoS attacks
• Inflexible legacy systems that cannot accommodate updates or new components

Many enterprise customers run mission-critical websites and apps on legacy or not-easily-scalable systems that still need protection against sophisticated bots. 

In response, we’ve developed Edge Integration—a simple and seamless approach to deploy DataDome protection directly at the network edge. Customers route their traffic through edge infrastructure, allowing DataDome to inspect, analyze, and secure 100% of traffic requests in real time before forwarding legitimate traffic to your origin servers.

Set up is easy

Implementing Edge Integration is straightforward, in only 2 steps: 

1. SSL certificate provisioning: We automatically generate and manage SSL certificates on your behalf, since all traffic will be routed through our Edge Network.
   
2. DNS configuration: Customers only need to update their DNS records inside their DNS provider (such as AWS Route 53, Gandi, etc.) to point to DataDome’s Edge Network.

That’s it. Once the DNS change propagates (usually within a few minutes), all incoming traffic is automatically protected by DataDome without any additional configuration required.
