DataDome leverages Cloudflare Workers, a globally distributed serverless compute platform that runs across Cloudflare’s worldwide network of locations. Thanks to Workers, the DataDome decision logic can be executed in close proximity to end users, with significant flexibility and performance benefits as a result.

For every hit to the user’s website, an event is triggered and processes the DataDome logic in a Workers function before the regular Cloudflare process. Depending on the API response, the module either blocks the request or lets Cloudflare continue the regular process.
